Purple Valley Trails
We are a local group of riders, outdoor enthusiasts, and experienced trail builders creating a mountain bike network in Williamstown.
Earlier this year Purple Valley NEMBA signed an agreement with Williams College & Williamstown to develop a network of mountain bike trails on an 800 acre block of land on Berlin mountain. To realize that vision we were awarded one of five IMBA Trail Accelerator Grants, and have begun work on a master plan for the new trails.
Ride
The first “Proof of Concept” Trail, a short but fun flow trail, opened in July 2024. The second “Upper Loop”, will be a 1 - 2 mile natural bench cut trail that works its way up towards the ridge and back down to connect with the Proof of Concept. The second trail is currently under construction and slated to open early this spring.

Join us for Friday morning build & ride sessions, or come out to one of our monthly trail building days. Not only is this a great way to contribute to the community, it’s also a good way to meet folks to ride with.
